Date: February 27, March 6, 13, 20, 27, April 3
Instructor: Tammy Martinez
Skill Level: Level 2+ (Intermediate+)
Discover a whole new world of glazing with sprayed glazes! Using an air compressor and spray booth, students will learn techniques to apply glaze to create a variety of unique surfaces. This class will focus on the use of our studio glazes fired with our typical cone 6 firing schedule. There are a few required materials for this class, listed below:
— Dust and Mist Respirator Mask or stronger particulate mask: We will have some Dust masks available in the studio, however it is advised to bring your own and ALWAYS use a mask when spray glazing.
— 5-10 Bisque fired pots: Please have bisque fired pots ready to bring to the first day of class so you can immediately begin spraying. We recommend a variety of shapes, including a few smaller test pieces to practice on.
— Appropriately sized drip trays: Every pot should have an accompanying drip tray for firing; correct sizing is 1 inch larger than the widest part of the pot, all the way around. See signage in the studio for more drip tray information.
Students are responsible for cleaning all classroom tools and work areas by the end of class.
